This holiday season can be stressful on a small business.  Some like me welcome a little time off, but the reality is that I will still take the call.  Other businesses need to ramp up this time of year.  Those businesses are the ones that are keeping me from surfing, golfing and skiing.  Yes I like my play time, but customers come first.

In fact, customers come first is exactly what I want to talk about today.  If you have a small business and need a little extra cash, there is a very easy way to do it.  Reach out to your existing customers.  If that doesn’t work, you are in the wrong business.  Your existing customers are the best source of quick revenue and repeat revenue.  Always, Always, Always call them first when you need business right now.  If you have served them well, they will be happy to hear from you.

Advertising for new customers is more expensive and takes much longer to use as a cash flow generator because there is not an established relationship.  Your existing customers know you and your product.  If you have something new, let them know.

Everyone is stressed out during the holiday season when we are supposed to be “relaxing” with our families.  What can you do for your past customers that can help relieve some of that holiday stress.  Write it down and start calling.
